| 80s to 30s and a Relay |
| 04.24.05 (3:01 am) [edit] |
As expected in Indiana, the weather has been completely unpredicable the past couple of days. 80s and sunny transforms through a big storm to a cool 30s with sleet and cloudy horidness. Unfortuately enough, this was Relay for Life weekend here in great Vigo County. Being our team captain for that made me a bit stressful all day before it started at 3pm. First of all, my day started with a breakfast. yeah, haven't had one of those since probably last year. I, along with TPK, had to take our Pike chapter consultant to breakfast to talk about our new/soon to be History Room and also about Chapter Ed. and historian stuff. Aside: I just love breakfast food, but the problem is that it is way too early in the morning. 'They' should switch lunch and breakfast foods! Well it didn't go anyway that I could have imagined. He wanted to hear more of ghost stories about our house than anything else. Which disappointed me because I wanted his input/feedback on how Chapter Ed is going and what I can do to make it good/better. C'est la vie. The rest of the day consisted of an enjoyable random-topic conversation with Tim and Cory. Then, I had to face Mother Nature and her recient PMSing episode. Horrible mother she is really--teasing us like that with tropical weather. So relay was not as great as last year, reason being is probably the weather. ACS ended up shutting it down at 10pm because of the freezing temperatures. Expected wind chill was like 17 or something crazy. And of course Al Morrison told ACS to fuck off, and that we couldn't use the SRC instead of the outside track. What a dick. So we Pikes helped clean up and got a total of a whole sheet cake (2 seperate halves) from the survivors dinner. SWEET! So "cherokee princess" gave the brothers some cake to persuade dream girl voting. ;) So the evening ended up unexpectedly back at the house for a little beer o'clock and watching people playing poker. Including Ashley! I haven't seen her in a long time. Voll did a good job with the ring, too--it's pretty. I can't wait to see my neice soon! I hear that she is growing up so fast. She's the cutest baby ever.
