good weekend-MY MAN MITCH!!
01.30.06 (1:26 am)   [edit]
this past week was quite possibly one of the worst weeks ever 2 test. I'm pretty sure I failed both, along with ingress every night taking up time..then initiation friday night. Eh, the associates are worth the time. But after studying my ass off for emag test on friday and being completely confident that i could do every problem on the 4 exams from the past quarters, i left the room with little confidence that i actually achieved a passing score. idk what will happen--considering the first exam in emag i got a whopping 36/100... and the 300 test on tuesday wasn't too great either. I may have passed, but it will be a score quite possibly far from nice. yeah, i have to have a passing average on the exams. :( All of this only makes me think more about staying at rose or not. considering i haven't enjoyed/liked any of my classes since 130-logic design freshmen year. This make me wonder if i will even like being an engineer if/when i would get a job. not ever having an internship to see the workplace doesn't help either. but the question of what else would i do, considering that i am on the second half of my junior year and all of the money and time i spent on this "education" at rose makes it a tough decision. schroeder put it well when he said it's all just sunk cost, which puts it in terms that i understand--thanks econ. but what would i do if i transfer? is engineering the same at other schools? could i do something else? could i put up with people at other school?! while i complain about the personalities and lack of social skills of engineers, other college students drive me crazy. like when i step back and realize that most people don't know how to do simple things like calculus...i just am in awe. /tangent So on Saturday, I got up early after a late night of initiations and sams steakhouse goodness to go to Indy for a state college republican leadership meeting. I was pretty psyched about going first off, but then when the 30-some of us from colleges across indiana were about to get stated, i looked across the room to see a familiar face that i've only seen on tv or the paper...Govenor Mitch Daniels!! OMG freakin' sweet. He talked for a while about how sweetly the thing things are changing for indiana. and how the libs are pissed b/c after 16 years of control and completely stopping time for progress in the crossroads of american he is stirring up the paradigm of the past. like the state congressman said, who spoke before mitch, a saying from southern indiana is in order to make omlets you have to break some eggs. and that's what he's doing...and he's pissing off a lot of "the hacks" from the other side. govenor daniels supported a lot of the programs he's doing and the way he's cleaning up the state which was: broke, broken, and economically slipping behind other states. he's my new personal hero because he has the balls to do whats right, no matter what opponents say about him. after hearing the truth about the new roads, i actually agree with it. the liberal media puts a spin on the program to make it all seem bad. mitch rocks! After having a suprisingly AWESOME day, I hurried back home to change for the AP banquet in b-town. Danna was a great date, especially when it was she who asked me to go at the last minute. good times all around. then we spent the night at rae-rae's where we met up with anna and adam, droste, and dave too. so all in all, a bad week led to an AWESOME weekend. which, further supports my theory that good and evil always balances.
