cool tv show
07.18.04 (10:40 pm) [edit]

so i just watched this really cool show on ABC. I usually don't venture into tv land much, however, as usual there wasn't good programming so I settled on this show "Extreme Makeover-Home Edition." So I say you should watch it: Sundays 8/7c. As a soon-to-be engineer I'm fascinated with this type of thing, arcitecture, construction, carpentrey, landscaping, decoration, and the like. So this is a great show. The families that are hand picked really deserve this. watch!

happy birthday
07.10.04 (11:07 pm) [edit]
Last night I celebrated Tim King’s 21 birthday ( mine is Sunday, the 11th ) with 7 ΠΚΑ brothers and 1 alumnus. On the way there, Rick Baker called me. He informed me that this week was his last in Hawaii and would be returning home. He wished I would join him for a two week trip to Falcon Ridge with Pierson, including a visit to Gettysburg Battleground and NYC. I wish that I could join them, but I have no money. The dinner with my brothers of φφκα at RockBottom Restaurant and Brewery was delightful. I ordered Aegean pizza. It was actually tasty considering I had never had some of the toppings. Tim, Kyle Hassler, and Danny LaPlante all had the beer sampler with all 6 of the house brewed beers. Afterwards, we 7 current brothers planned on going to see “Anchorman” over at Circle Center Mall movie theatre. Tim and I paid our bills in cash without the need for change so we went over early to buy 7 tickets and save seats, considering it was opening night for the show. On the way over down a couple of blocks in the light rain, directly across from the restaurant sat a homeless lady with a few other people with umbrellas keeping her dry. She called out to me for some left-overs. Tim and I look at each other as we walk a few more steps in the rain. He said to me “You can take it in the movie, anyway, You should go back and give it to her.” That was my same thought. He would meet me at the entrance after I had given her the food. Handing her a Styrofoam box with a couple pieces and a gesture of “Here you are,” was all I could make out, having never spoken to any homeless people on the street (other than serving food at Shelby Street Compassion Center with National Honor Society last year). Her voice I will never forget—complete gratitude—“Thank You.”
